Officially we are now engaged. His parents are psyched to have a "goeie boeremeisie" in their family. My family still needs to warm up to the idea that he is not Afrikaans - at least my Dad loves him!
If you were wonderig, the ring is beautiful. Flawless diamonds. White gold. Perfect.
One other thing. I will not be changing my surname. I quite like it. Besides, I'm too lazy to change passports, ID books, banking details... I just don't do queues all that well either - especially not in South Africa.

OK, so a little more than a month (hell, let's call it 2 or 3 just to be prudent), and you're getting married? After all this time spent searching?
